COVID Precautions at Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center
The 2021 AFCC Global Biobased Economy Events team is excited to kick-off the inaugural conference with precautions taken to ensure safety as its first criteria.
To promote the safety of everyone at the conference, AFCC will follow the guidance and requirements of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and the county in which the resort is located – Price George County – which has an indoor mask mandate in place. All individuals over the age of 2 are required to wear a mask indoors at all times except when eating and drinking. This requirement may change from time to time until the start of the conference.
"At Gaylord Hotels, the health & safety of our guests, attendees, community and STARS ( employees) remain of paramount importance to us. The COVID-19 pandemic has required us to raise our demanding standards to an even higher level with new protocols for the current circumstances. We have elevated our cleanliness standards and are changing hospitality norms. As a part of Marriott International's family, we have put in place a multi-pronged approach designed to meet the health and safety challenges presented by COVID-19 as outlined in Marriott's Commitment to Clean. These protocols will continue to adapt to current needs, in consultation with federal, state and local authorities and health experts. You can see more detail about our cleanliness protocols at GaylordHotelsClean.com. Currently in the county in which the resort is located – Price George’s County – has an indoor mask mandate in place. All individuals over the age of 2 are required to wear a mask indoors at all time except when eating and drinking. Each property has a cleanliness “ champion” who can answer any specific questions regarding our process.
We do continue to have employee temperatures taken upon entry into the building as are all vendors and contractors who come to the property. A colored bracelet is handed to us to wear after the temperature has been checked. If someone shows a raised temperature, said person is not allowed entry into the building.
We continue to have hand sanitizer stations throughout public areas and have replaced our air filters throughout the whole building with MERV 13 Filters."
